SNCF ticket cancellation and change conditions vary depending on the ticket you have chosen:
If allowed, you can cancel or change your booking online or via the mobile app.
However, cancelling an SNCF trip is not possible if you hold an Avantage Week-end or Family card and wish to cancel the outbound or return journey for all passengers or for one of the passengers.
A refund request for the return journey is not possible if the outbound journey has already been used.
If you need more information about SNCF's terms of transport, you can find them in this table.
The "Programme Voyageur" loyalty program as it currently exists will run for the last time in September 2021.
With the creation of the new Avantage card, SNCF has decided to remove all its old advantage cards / loyalty programs in order to have a simplified system.
To enjoy a discount on your SNCF trip through an SNCF loyalty program, you will now only be able to rely on the Avantage card...
In general, you should arrive 20 minutes before the train departs. If you don't want to be stressed, running through the station and arriving sweaty on the train, give yourself a bit of a margin!
However, you need to arrive 30 minutes beforehand for certain trains such as OuiGo and Eurostar, so check carefully before you leave... It would be a shame to miss your train anyway!
Oh yes, also don't forget your ID, your health pass and your mask (mandatory in the station and on the train) in case you are checked on the train!
For a delayed Voyages SNCF train, SNCF lets you benefit from the G30 Guarantee.
This allows you to get a refund in the form of a digital voucher from 30 minutes of delay, and a bank transfer from one hour onward.
You have 60 days to submit your request from the departure date.
The conditions are as follows:
To make it easier to identify your luggage, SNCF offers you the option to print personalized labels for free for your SNCF suitcases and other items travelling with you by train.
This service, E-Tiquette, is accessible online and can be used from home!
You just need to print your personalized SNCF luggage label on adhesive paper or on regular paper.
Unfortunately, at the moment, the labelling service has been temporarily suspended in 2021.
Legally, there is no age requirement for travelling on SNCF alone. A simple ID and a valid ticket are enough.
On the other hand, keep in mind that an unaccompanied minor travelling by train remains the responsibility of their legal guardians.
If you're not comfortable with the idea of letting your child travel alone, SNCF offers an escort service called: JUNIOR & Cie.
This service is of course paid, but it ensures that everything goes smoothly during your trip. You can find out more about these services by visiting the JUNIOR & Cie page.
And to learn more, read our FAQ dedicated to this topic: Click here.
Are you afraid of leaving your kitten or puppy with your neighbor during your holidays?
No worries, you can bring it with you on SNCF trains!
For a dog train ticket / cat train ticket, the price is €7 if it weighs less than 6kg and half the price of a second class ticket if it weighs more than 6kg.
Warning: animals are not allowed on Eurostar trains. So plan to have it looked after during your stay, there's no other alternative!
Want to know if there are any Voyages SNCF promo codes for cheap train travel?
Today, SNCF does not offer any promo code, whether for an SNCF TGV / INTERCITÉS or TER trip.
However, SNCF's subscription cards: Carte Jeune, Carte Week-end, Carte Enfant+, Carte Senior+, Fréquence, Fréquence 30 all work under a single name: La Carte Avantage.
Also, you can request the Carte Voyageur of the SNCF loyalty program for free, for even more perks and promos on Voyages SNCF.
You can subscribe to all these cards by following this link.
Finally, if you are between 16 and 27 years old and take a lot of InOui trains, the Max Jeune offer (formerly TGV Max) might also suit you.
So, for €79 a month, you can take the TGV and therefore TGV inOui trains as much as you like!
To enjoy this offer, go to the dedicated TGV max page.
Today, after booking your SNCF trip on Tictactrip or on the Oui.SNCF website, validating your ticket has become much simpler than before!
Before you can validate your ticket, you need to:
Then, to make your journey easier, you are exempt from ticket stamping.
Head straight to the platform of your SNCF train.

Tired of carrying your luggage around? Understandable!
Want to enjoy your train journey with peace of mind? Absolutely!

And thanks to your Avantage card, you get a 15% discount!
Looking for a timetable for your SNCF trip?
What we recommend is going through Tictactrip to simulate your future journey!
Otherwise, you can go directly to the Oui.Sncf website (formerly Voyages-SNCF) to find a specific train timetable.

And if you want to keep your timetable handy with a personalized sheet, build your route + timetable by clicking here.
Want to book your SNCF seat next to your sweetheart?
It's important to know your travel conditions beforehand and therefore whether you can choose your seat on board a Voyages SNCF train:
For INTERCITÉS trains, your seating depends exclusively on the train. Sometimes you'll be seated automatically, and sometimes you'll be able to choose your seat. No worries, you'll be with the people travelling with you!
Here, seating is free. You can choose any seat / carriage / floor: first come, first served!
On TGV InOui SNCF trains, there are two types of class:
Depending on the class chosen, the price of your ticket may change.
TGV InOui seats can easily recline and include a folding tray table, and have power outlets in both 1st and 2nd class (unlike Ouigo trains, which don't have power outlets).
To find your Voyage SNCF ticket, it all depends on whether you booked your ticket directly on our platform or on the Oui.SNCF platform.
If you are in the first case:
You are in the second case:
Still, we've heard that Voyages SNCF train ticket prices can be cheaper on Tictactrip... Curious, isn't it!

Today, to travel by TGV / INTERCITÉS / TER, the Health Pass is mandatory for your trips on TGV INOUI, OUIGO, INTERCITÉS with mandatory reservation, and long-distance international trains departing from France (except Eurostar).
The health pass must prove:
Verification of your Health Pass during a train journey can take place at any time:
Verification of the validity of the health pass is done by scanning the QR code via the TousAntiCovid app.
Verification of a paper document is visual + scanning of a QR Code if present on the document.
Before boarding the train, you must:
SNCF's luggage policy can change depending on which train you take, so you should check the OUI.sncf website to find out what you can bring with you.
Check carefully beforehand so you don't end up having to leave a suitcase on the station platform!
For example, SNCF's Ouigo trains do not allow you to bring a large suitcase. You will need to check in extra luggage when booking!
To learn more in detail, see our dedicated FAQ: Click here.
Of course!
It is possible to bring your bike on the train. However, you'll need to follow certain rules when travelling with your bike on TGV / INTERCITÉS / TER with Voyages-SNCF.
To make your life easier, SNCF offers you many ways to book your train ticket!
However, we recommend going through Tictactrip: nicer, more eco-friendly and more useful!
That said, you can also do it:
New points of sale are also currently being tested: tobacco shops, which will be able to sell TER tickets.
SNCF sells train tickets to let you travel comfortably to the destination of your choice.
However, Voyages SNCF, and more precisely Oui.SNCF today, is a ticket comparison site.
On it, you'll have the chance to choose among thousands of offers for bus, train, carpooling, plane, and even book your accommodation!
Pretty comprehensive offer, isn't it?
And you have plenty of choice when it comes to the ticket itself: you can print it comfortably at home, print it at the station before leaving, or even download it to your phone.
Your eco-conscious side will probably prefer the e-ticket.
Still have questions? Want to contact an SNCF advisor directly via SNCF chat?
You can contact SNCF:
Otherwise, our customer service will be happy to help!
With SNCF and thanks to Oui.SNCF, you'll travel in total comfort (promise, much better than by bus)!

SNCF offers you plenty of resources!
Today, SNCF provides several assistance services:

Accès TER: Do you hold a disability card and want to travel around the region with peace of mind?

Long before the internet existed, SNCF only sold train tickets at stations or through travel agencies.
In the early 2000s, SNCF created the website www.voyages-sncf.com so that customers could now buy their train tickets online.
It's simple: the service is now a resounding success, as the majority of purchases are made online!
Today, this site is called Oui.SNCF.
Voyages-SNCF or Oui.SNCF, whatever you call it, is a more or less independent subsidiary of the French rail company, which for almost 20 years has offered the full range of the company's journeys.
Voyages-SNCF, now Oui.SNCF, was the first player in France able to resell SNCF train tickets.
Since late 2017, the Voyages SNCF site has been a must for transport in France and abroad alike.
It covers several transport networks, whether bus, train, carpooling, or car rental.
As this article from Le Parisien puts it well, the Voyages-SNCF site becomes Oui.SNCF after achieving successes such as in 2015 with a peak of 240,000 trips sold per day, mostly SNCF train tickets, the site totaled 86 million trips that same year, and so Voyages-SNCF became Oui.SNCF.
The goal?
To boost its branding and image in order to offer a quality, consistent offering alongside its Inoui trains.
At the same time, SNCF also developed the same service but low-cost: OuiGo!
Plenty of destinations are available for traveling solo, as a family, or with friends! Its low-cost train service OuiGo lets you travel without breaking the bank!
