Postbus, or rather Flixbus now, doesn't offer a loyalty program, but in any case, bus tickets aren't expensive.

Little tip: you can find a Flixbus promo code online without much trouble, so don't hesitate to see what's out there on the internet. Plus, the company offers gift cards if you'd like to gift a trip to someone close to you!

👨‍✈️ Boarding

To board your Postbus (now Flixbus), don't forget to arrive with plenty of time to spare. The company advises you to arrive at least 15 minutes before the bus departs. That way, no stress, you can board calmly and choose your seat (if possible) ;)

All you need to do to board is show your bus reservation to the driver. At Flixbus, there's no surprise quiz or obstacle course, a simple ticket is enough. Still, bring your ID card, just in case.

💸 Cancellation and refund policy for tickets

You can cancel or change your Postbus (now Flixbus) booking up to 15 minutes before your departure.

Please note, if you decide to cancel your Postbus ticket, you'll receive a voucher, from which cancellation fees will be deducted. These fees will be waived if you cancel your ticket 30 days before departure, €1 between 14 and 30 days before departure, €3 between 3 and 14 days before departure, and €5 3 days before departure! Rules are rules, as they say...

Regarding ticket exchanges, you'll need to cancel your previous booking and then buy the trip that suits you best. Don't forget to check whether there's space available on the bus you want to book!

🧳 Baggage policy

With Postbus, now Flixbus, you're entitled to one hand luggage item (such as a backpack or a small musical instrument) and one hold luggage item. Still, don't forget you only have 2 arms!

Please note, however, that luggage must meet specific size requirements. More information here .

Be sure to label your luggage before leaving! Yes indeed, it's important if you don't want any unpleasant surprises!

If you wish, you can also pay a surcharge to bring an extra piece of luggage. That's €3.99 at the time of booking and €6 if you forget to do it during booking! As we always say, plan ahead. 😉

On the other hand, if you're not very comfortable with 2.0 technology, you can book your ticket at a Flixbus point of sale, a travel agency, or from the driver if there are still seats left on the bus (don't take too many risks though!)

With Postbus, sorry, Flixbus, you can choose your preferred seat location, subject to availability of course. The only small downside is that you'll have to pay a small surcharge: €1.49 for a standard seat and €2.99 for a "panorama" seat (which offers the best view from the bus).

If you don't want to pay this surcharge, you'll need to be quick when boarding the bus, so try to be at the bus stop at least 15 minutes before departure. That way, you can take the seat of your choice when boarding the bus.

🧒🏻 Policy for unaccompanied minors

Unaccompanied minors cannot travel on board Postbus (or Flixbus) buses if they are under 16 years old.

Between 16 and 18 years old, for trips abroad, they will need parental authorization to travel alone. Not to mention their ID card or passport...

However, from 18 years old onwards, they can travel like adults, as long as they have their booking and a piece of ID.

♿️ Access for people with reduced mobility

Of course, people with reduced mobility can travel on board Postbus (or Flixbus)! However, if you're traveling with a wheelchair, we recommend contacting Customer Service 7 to 14 days before departure, to avoid any unpleasant surprises. An agent will help you find an accessible bus in complete safety, so don't worry and trust Postbus, in other words Flixbus!

🐯 Access for pets

Unfortunately your little dog or cat is not allowed on board Postbus/Flixbus buses. It will need to stay home (or with a friend if you're going away for a long time).

However, your guide dog or assistance dog will always be welcome on the buses! It will also be exempt from wearing a muzzle...

  • In Paris, there are 6 stops for Flixbus: Porte Maillot, Bercy, Orly-Sud, Charles de Gaulle, Massy Palaiseau and La Défense. Unless you enjoy bad surprises, find out about the arrival or departure point of your bus so you don't end up stranded on the other side of the Île-de-France region.

History of the Postbus bus company

Just like Megabus, the coaches of the Postbus company are now called Flixbus since the company was bought out in 2016 by Flixbus and the Flixmobility group. You can travel by bus to 1700 different destinations in 27 European countries!


With Postbus, Flixbus acquired an extremely well-developed bus network in Germany, making it even easier and faster to travel around Europe with Flixbus.


Flixbus (formerly Postbus) offers long-distance trips at reduced prices. Don't worry, in addition to ultra-comfortable seats, you'll be entitled to bring not just 1 but 2 pieces of luggage! Still hesitating? Wi-Fi on board and power outlets will be there to make your journey pleasant! Interestingly, the Flixbus company is now present in the United States!
