Discovery lovers, we have great news for you! 🚄 Thanks to TGV Lyria, travelling between France and Switzerland has never been so simple, fast and enjoyable. Whether it's a weekend in Paris, a trip by Lake Geneva or a business stay in Zurich, all you have to do is hop on board and let yourself be carried along.
From Geneva, you get up to eight round trips a day to Paris, with departures every two hours from 6:29am. Ideal for making the most of your time, whether you leave early to wander around museums or later for a business lunch. Lausanne is just as well served with up to six daily connections, and you'll be in Paris in under 4 hours. 🗼
Departing from Zurich or Basel? No problem: up to six departures a day let you easily reach the French capital. All journeys run to and from stations right in the city centre, without the hassle of check-in, queues or airport shuttles. Just the pleasure of travelling, door to door.
As for fares, there's something for every budget: tickets start from €49 (or even €29 if you book a bit ahead), with no hidden fees for your luggage. And if you're on the lookout for good deals, keep an eye out for flash sales, perfect for a spontaneous getaway at a great price. 😃
In summer, you can even head further south! TGV Lyria takes you all the way to Marseille, Avignon or Aix-en-Provence directly from Geneva. In just 3h43, you go from the Swiss peaks to the Provençal markets, all while sitting comfortably, with no traffic jams or stress. 🌞
And let's talk about onboard comfort. Three classes are on offer: Standard, Standard 1st and Business 1st. All include free Wi-Fi, a power outlet at every seat and a relaxing atmosphere. In the bar car, the "Le Deli" concept offers fresh, seasonal dishes. And if you travel in Business 1st, get ready to enjoy a menu signed by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roth. 😋
TGV Lyria also thinks of all its travellers: families with children, cyclists, people with reduced mobility, four-legged companions… Everything is designed for travelling in the best conditions, with no extra charge for bikes or small animals (subject to conditions).
Booking? Nothing could be simpler. Head to Tictactrip, compare schedules, prices and carbon emissions, then book in just a few clicks. Tickets are available up to six months in advance, and the e-ticket lets you board directly from your phone.
And above all, by choosing the train, you're also choosing more responsible mobility. A TGV Lyria journey emits up to 30 times less CO₂ than an equivalent flight. Travelling fast, well and green — it's possible.
So, are you getting on board? 🎉
There is no strict regulation governing travel for unaccompanied minors on board TGV Lyria trains. However, for extra peace of mind, you can use the JUNIOR & Cie escort service offered by SNCF.
This service is for children aged 4 to 14 travelling alone. A dedicated escort takes care of your child from departure and stays with them until they are handed over to the designated adult on arrival.
The JUNIOR & Cie service is available during school holidays on certain TGV Lyria lines, notably Paris–Geneva and Paris–Basel. In this case, make sure to book at least 4 days before departure.
Don't forget to give your child a valid ID. For children under 15, a travel permit can be requested free of charge from French prefectures.
For more information on travel formalities for minors, check the official website diplomatie.gouv.fr.

To travel aboard TGV Lyria trains, health conditions may vary depending on the regulations in force in France and Switzerland. It is therefore recommended to check the latest rules before departure, especially regarding the Health Pass or any restrictions specific to cross-border journeys.
Wearing a mask may be required in certain circumstances, particularly during periods of increased virus circulation. It is generally recommended for vulnerable people or during busy periods, especially in stations or on board the train.
On board, everything is in place to ensure your safety: hand sanitiser is available so passengers can clean their hands, and hygiene measures are respected by both staff and passengers.
Lyria applies strict disinfection measures:
You can book your TGV Lyria tickets online at the best price directly on Tictactrip. It's the ideal solution to compare, combine and easily book your eco-friendly journeys between France and Switzerland.

It's possible in just a few clicks with TGV Lyria, a regional train or even a bus. You have the choice, take advantage of it! 😉
Prefer to book elsewhere? You can also buy your tickets on the TGV Lyria or SNCF Connect websites.
Finally, tickets are also available at physical points of sale, notably in stations served by TGV Lyria such as Paris Gare de Lyon.
Good to know: every trip you take on an international TGV Lyria, a TGV INOUI or an Intercités train earns you loyalty points that you can then use. 😏
Here are the main benefits of the Grand Voyageur programme applicable to TGV Lyria journeys:
The baggage policy on board TGV Lyria trains is particularly flexible: there is no strict limit on the size or number of bags and suitcases you can bring.
The only conditions: you must be able to carry your luggage yourself, and it must not obstruct movement in the train's aisles. In short, common sense to ensure comfort for all passengers.
Also remember to label your luggage clearly, indicating at least your first and last name.
Travelling with a bike? That's entirely possible on board TGV Lyria. Simply remove the panniers if applicable, disassemble your bicycle and store it in a cover no larger than 120 x 90 cm.
Good news: no reservation or extra fees are required to carry your bike under these conditions.
Yes, it is entirely possible to choose your seat aboard TGV Lyria. This option is offered when booking, whether online in the dedicated seating section, or at a sales point by specifying your preferences to an agent.
However, please note: your seat choice also depends on the class you are travelling in. Some carriages are reserved exclusively for passengers in Standard 1st and Business 1st class, which may limit the options available if you are travelling in Standard class.
In addition to its three comfort classes, TGV Lyria offers several preferential fares for families, children and young travellers. Here are the main offers to know:
Lyria Family Plus Promo: valid for one or two adults accompanying at least one child under 12. This offer is only available in Standard class (2nd class) and allows you to travel as a family at a reduced price.
Lyria Baby Pass: an ultra-affordable fare for little ones under 4 years old. Perfect for travelling with your baby at a low price and total peace of mind.
Lyria Child Ticket Promotion: reserved for children aged 4 to 12, this offer gives access to reduced fares, while letting you choose the level of flexibility (flexible, semi-flexible or non-exchangeable).
TGV Lyria Youth Promotion: aimed at teenagers and young adults aged 12 to 26, this promotion lets you travel at a reduced fare between France and Switzerland, without any compromise on comfort.
There is no loyalty programme specific to TGV Lyria. However, several SNCF discount cards are valid on international trains to Switzerland.
Enfant +, Carte Jeune, Carte Week-end and Carte Senior cards allow you to get a 25% discount on the day's fare, as well as partial flexibility for tickets in Standard and Standard 1st classes.
SNCF loyalty cards, including the Grand Voyageur programme, also give access to attractive last-minute offers on TGV Lyria journeys. To find out more, check our dedicated FAQ.
Also check out the current offers and how to always save more on the Lyria website.
Pets are welcome on board TGV Lyria trains, under certain conditions. As with many railway companies, the rules mainly depend on the animal's weight.
If your pet weighs under 6 kg, it can travel for free, without a ticket, up to two animals per passenger. It must be carried in a bag or basket no larger than 45 x 30 x 25 cm.
If you are travelling alone with more than two small animals, a ticket must be purchased for each additional companion, even if they meet the size and weight criteria.
For animals over 6 kg, purchasing a ticket is mandatory. If it's a dog, it must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle for the entire journey.
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are naturally allowed on board free of charge and without a muzzle.
TGV Lyria trains are designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities and reduced mobility.
A specially adapted space for wheelchair users is available in the Business 1st carriage. If you wish to book this seat, please specify it when purchasing your ticket. A transfer chair is also available on board in case the dedicated seat is already occupied.
A specific fare applies for wheelchair users and their companion. If the accessible seat in Business 1st is available, the fare is €38. If you are able to transfer to a standard seat in Standard class, the fare is reduced to €12.
In the case of a disability that does not require the use of a wheelchair, only the companion can benefit from these preferential fares. Proof of the need for assistance may be requested on board.
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are of course accepted on board at no extra cost.
If you need help at the station, a free assistance service is available, provided you request it at least 48 hours before departure.

Although the rail company Lyria does not explicitly detail boarding conditions, since its trains are mostly operated by SNCF, it is reasonable to assume that boarding rules are similar to those of domestic TGV trains.
We recommend arriving at the station at least 30 minutes before departure so you can board calmly, even in case of the unexpected. Note that boarding may be refused from two minutes before the announced departure time.
Also remember to bring a valid form of ID, such as an identity card or passport. Depending on the period, a valid health pass may be required to travel.
If you are a French citizen or a citizen of the European Union, no visa is needed to cross the Swiss border.
Good to know: the services available on board TGV Lyria trains vary depending on your ticket class.
A brand new dining menu has been developed and the bar car has been completely redesigned across all trains for an even more enjoyable experience.
Wi-Fi is available free of charge on all TGV Lyria trains. Great news for staying connected throughout the journey! You'll love travelling while surfing comfortably between France and Switzerland.
To connect to the Wi-Fi, nothing could be simpler:
At-seat catering and press are included only for Business 1st passengers. In this class, the menus are signed by the famous Michelin-starred chef Michel Roth, offering warm, tasty dishes suited to the different times of day.
Whatever your ticket, you can always buy snacks and drinks at the bar car, accessible to all passengers.
All TGV Lyria carriages are air-conditioned. Power outlets are available on board trains in duplex configuration, notably on the Paris – Geneva line.
Families are also welcome on board! Family spaces are provided in 2nd class, in a group of 4 seats set apart by a glass partition for more privacy. Seats and tables fold up to make it easier to store strollers and luggage.
Nearby, you'll find a nursery area equipped with a changing table and bottle warmer, for a stress-free journey with your little ones.
The ability to exchange or get a refund for your TGV Lyria ticket depends on the flexibility level associated with your ticket at the time of purchase.
If you hold a Standard or Standard 1st class ticket, it's essential to check the level of flexibility chosen. A non-flexible ticket allows neither exchange nor refund. However, if your ticket is partially or fully flexible, you can change or cancel your trip for a fee of €30.
For travellers in Business 1st class, good news: your ticket is fully flexible. It can be exchanged and refunded free of charge, without limit.
Whatever class you choose, you benefit from flexible access to all trains that day. However, to guarantee a seat on your new train, or to enjoy the at-seat service in Business 1st, it is strongly recommended to properly process an exchange.
You can view all exchange and refund conditions by ticket type in this summary table.
If you bought your ticket on our site, our customer service is available to handle any exchange or cancellation request, in accordance with TGV Lyria's after-sales conditions. We are the only ones authorised to act on these bookings.
On board TGV Lyria, you can choose between three travel classes, suited to all needs and budgets:
Lyria Standard: this class corresponds to SNCF's second class. It's the most economical option, ideal for travelling at a low price without giving up comfort.
You can choose between several flexibility levels (full, partial or non-changeable), depending on your ticket exchange or refund needs.
Lyria Standard 1st: an accessible first class, offering more legroom and superior comfort.
This ticket also gives you access to the SNCF Grand Voyageur lounge at Paris Gare de Lyon. And for your cravings, you can order snacks served directly at your seat, without having to go to the bar, for a small extra fee.
Lyria Business 1st: the premium experience par excellence. You enjoy all the benefits of the other classes, plus a premium service included in the ticket price.
International newspapers are made available to you, and an at-seat service offers, depending on the time of your journey, breakfast, a snack or a full meal, accompanied by unlimited drinks. Everything is designed for a fully comfortable, hassle-free journey.

With TGV Lyria, reach Geneva from Paris in no time: just over 3 hours of travel, at high speed and in total comfort. The change of scenery starts as soon as you step aboard!
Before 2002, this iconic line connecting France to Switzerland was known by the evocative name Ligne de cœur (the "Line of the Heart"), a nod to its popularity among cross-border travelers.
Today, Lyria offers up to 20 daily round trips between Paris and the main Swiss cities such as Geneva, Lausanne, Basel or Zurich. 🚄
Departures are also possible from other French cities such as Dijon, Mâcon or Strasbourg, for even more flexibility in your travels.
In 2019, more than 5 million passengers traveled aboard TGV Lyria trains, won over by the speed, comfort and quality of onboard service.
Did you know? TGV Lyria is operated in partnership between SNCF (74%) and the Swiss Federal Railways – SBB/CFF (26%), combining the rail expertise of both countries.
A fun fact: Lyria is not considered a railway company in the legal sense of the term. Indeed, it holds neither a license nor a safety certificate – it is SNCF and the SBB/CFF that operate the trains.
