Eastern Europe cheaply with LEO Express trains

When it comes to comfort, LEO Express really bends over backwards to give you a pleasant journey!

Power outlets, Wi-Fi, tablet rental, snacks, drinks, reclining and massaging leather seats in a private space, a blanket... what more could you ask for?

As I mentioned earlier, not all these services are included in every ticket type, but you're still offered a wide range of options to meet all your needs during your journey!

Our little favorite: the compartment reserved for children. Not only does it let kids hang out together and not get bored, but it also lets parents and other travelers enjoy a much quieter journey!

Since LEO Express aims to put a smile on your face during your travels, the company has 2 loyalty programs:

• The first is the Smile Club. It's all based on the number of kilometers you travel. Each threshold you reach earns you bonuses in LEO Crowns, which get better with every ticket purchased.
  Bonuses increase once you pass 1,000, 3,000 and 10,000 kilometers traveled, which can earn you up to 10% off your next tickets or let you enjoy perks like tablet rental, for example.
• The second loyalty program is the Children's Loyalty Club. As the name suggests, it's a loyalty program for kids. Children's tickets let you collect points and receive gifts. These points can be exchanged for Kubik travel goodies after 8 and 15 trips, valid for 3 months.

Only dogs are allowed onboard LEO Express trains, but let's be honest, that's already something!

The company specifies that it appreciates animals being transported in carriers or travel bags designed for that purpose, to protect the seats and floor in case of an accident and to avoid bothering other travelers. Basic rules, really!

The exception, of course, is for guide dogs, which are essential to their owners.

LEO Express doesn't give precise guidance regarding boarding its trains. We nevertheless recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the departure time to be sure you catch your train without stress!

Now for the eternal question of luggage! On LEO Express trains, you can store small bags under the seats and larger ones in designated spaces at each end of the carriage. In business class, hangers are also available for your jackets.

As for the number and weight of your bags, LEO Express gives no information on this. Since the company is as cool and flexible as it is, we can assume there's no strict limit on these criteria, as long as it stays within reason and your luggage doesn't bother other travellers. 😊

Want to bring your bike along for an active holiday? That's possible on all LEO Express trains! Just mention it when booking your ticket, and for only €1.96 extra, you can sit right next to your bicycle during the journey! Once again, the prices are unbeatable!

As for the number of bikes, it depends on where you're going. You can bring 2 to 4 bicycles depending on the following destinations:

• Prague - Lipno - 4 bikes
• Prague - Munich - 4 bikes
• Vienna - Wrocław - 4 bikes
• Prague - Salzburg - 4 bikes
• Košice - Mukachevo - 4 bikes
• Warsaw - Budapest - 2 bikes
• Warsaw - Vienna - 2 bikes
• Bohumín - Kraków - 2 bikes
• Ustka - Kraków - 2 bikes
• Ustka - Zakopane - 2 bikes

Children between 6 and 15 years old are allowed to travel aboard LEO Express trains provided they have parental authorization. There's no official form provided, so a signed letter should do the trick.

On the other hand, minors under 6 must be accompanied by a person at least 15 years old, who must be able to prove their age during a ticket check.

When it comes to the cancellation policy, once again no problem! Simply enter your ticket number along with your cancellation code in the small form at the bottom of this page and that's it! It's super simple, there's even an example in case you're not sure.

Note however that a single ticket cannot be cancelled as part of a group or family booking. If you only want to cancel your return, you must first wait until the outbound trip has taken place before doing so.

One last important piece of information: if you have a Smile account, your refund will be credited directly to that account in LEO Crowns free of charge. You can create your Smile account for free right here .

If you'd rather get a standard refund directly to your bank account, that's also possible. Just know that a small fee of 30 Czech crowns (not even €1.20) will be deducted.

On the other hand, ticket exchanges are not possible. You must therefore cancel your first ticket and then place a new order. It's a shame, but LEO Express is currently working on developing this feature.

LEO Express offers 4 distinct ticket types:

• Economy class tickets: these are the cheapest tickets but still include a number of services (power outlets and Wi-Fi, not the least important, right?). If that's not enough for you, you can also purchase extra services aboard the trains, such as snacks or even a tablet rental!
• Business class tickets offer more perks than economy class (as you'd expect!), notably free snacks and drinks! Another nice touch: your leather seat will be a bit set apart from the others for a peaceful journey!
  Tip: on some routes, business class tickets cost the same price as economy class! Now that you know the trick, go find those deals! 😉
• Premium class tickets. If you want to save a night's hotel stay while maximizing your chances of sleeping on the train, this is the ticket for you! A reclining, leather, massaging seat, set apart, with a small blanket plus meals and drinks included... you'll feel almost at home for the night!
• One last, slightly different ticket type: children's tickets! What's great about LEO Express is that for every 2 adult tickets purchased, 1 to 3 children between 0 and 14 years old can travel for free! Otherwise, children between 6 and 14 get a 50% discount off the usual fare.
  Another nice point: a compartment is reserved for little ones where they can keep busy watching films, colouring, and having their snack!

You can also get a 15% discount by showing your student card on board.

There are also discounts for return tickets, seniors, and groups! Makes you want to visit Eastern Europe, doesn't it?
