Luggage included free with your Flixbus ticket
Travelling with Flixbus (sometimes spelled Flexibus or Flix Bus) is very simple! When you make your Flixbus booking, you have several options when it comes to luggage.
With a standard ticket, each passenger can bring two types of luggage free of charge: a hand luggage item (such as a backpack or pouch) and a larger item of hold luggage.
Hand luggage allowed on Flixbus
Each traveller can bring a single piece of hand luggage measuring no more than 42 x 30 x 18 cm and weighing no more than 7 kg. Remember to keep your valuables in this hand luggage. Store it carefully at your Flixbus seat, ideally in the overhead compartments, so as not to inconvenience other travellers or block emergency exits.
Hold luggage allowed on Flixbus
Your Flixbus ticket also entitles you to one item of hold luggage, which must not exceed 80 x 50 x 30 cm and 20 kg in weight. Note that some routes may have exceptions. Always check the details on your Flixbus ticket or by contacting Flixbus customer service directly before your departure.
Extra Flixbus luggage
If you'd like to bring an extra suitcase, you can do so by checking in this luggage in advance. Simply go to the official Flixbus website or use their mobile app at least 48 hours before your departure.
Adding extra luggage to your Flixbus booking will only cost you €3.99 if you do it online when buying your ticket. Note that this fee rises to €6 if you add it later.
How do I add extra luggage on Flixbus?
