Missed your train, what to do? Discover all your solutions!

Have you recently missed your train and don't know what to do in this situation? Don't worry, at Tictactrip we have planned everything to help you as best as possible with your after-sales service. Here are the options available to you depending on the reasons you missed your train.

Sometimes, a train may be slightly delayed due to a technical fault, a problem on the tracks, a power cut or some other reasons that will have an impact on your train journey. But don't worry, in most cases, this unpleasant surprise will end well for you! Be careful however, you must distinguish between two scenarios.

In France, if you travel with SNCF and your first train is delayed from the scheduled time, don't worry! The company will be aware of the existence of your connection and will come to see you on board your train. Since your ticket purchase amounts to a contract with the carrier, it commits to ensuring your train connection. Ask a controller on board if no one comes to you, they must find you a solution and a new train to reach your destination.

However, if your journey combines two different carriers and/or two different types of transport, the problem becomes a bit more complex. But don't stress once again, we still have cards to play!

Note that in this case of combining two different types of transport, the connection is not guaranteed! In fact the reason stems from the fact that you then sign two contracts with different carriers, so there is no obligation for one towards the other. Thus, if your Paris Méribel TGV train causes you to miss your Altibus shuttle bus, you will not be entitled to any compensation or refund nor any rescue solution from SNCF.

However, there is an alternative, depending on the transport combinations for your journey!

This solution is the Hotnat service from Railteam! Railteam is a European railway alliance between different major carriers. It notably includes:

• Deutsche Bahn TGV ICE,

• SNCF TGV,

• Eurostar TGV,

• ÖBB Railjet TGV,

• Eurostar (ex-Thalys)

• and Lyria TGV.

1. It must be MANDATORY combined transports among those listed above.

2. The first train arrived late. The HOTNAT service does not apply to cancelled trains.

3. Your connection departs from one of the following stations:

   • Paris Gare de l'Est.

   • Paris Gare du Nord.

   • Paris Montparnasse.

   • Paris Gare de Lyon.

   • Lyon Part Dieu.

   • Lille Europe Station.

   • Gare de Strasbourg.

   • Brussels Midi-Zuid.

   • Gare d'Offenburg.

   • Gare de Stuttgart.

   • Cologne Main Station.

   • Frankfurt Main Station.

This HOTNAT service is available only at the station and will allow you to take the next train free of charge and departing from the same station. There is an exception for Paris, where your train may depart from all stations. Seats are not guaranteed, however.

Unfortunately, you ran after your train like that woman? We are truly sorry for you... Especially since in this case where the responsibility for missing this train is yours, we cannot do anything at all for you...

In this case, your transport ticket is lost and you will not be able to travel nor request any refund because the carrier is not responsible.
