Spanish transport company Renfe has acquired 50% of the capital of the Czech company Leo Express.

What does that change for our travellers?

Well, it's possible that before long, Leo Express will give way to Renfe as the new operator of long-distance (coach) routes, notably in countries such as the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and also Germany.

No specific information is given by LEO Express. However, our best advice is to arrive at least 30 minutes early. That's the perfect amount of time to board the bus calmly, even if something unexpected comes up :)

Since LEO Express aims to put a smile on your face during your travels, the company has a loyalty programme called the Smile Club! Everything depends on the number of kilometres you travel. Each milestone reached earns you bonuses called LEO Crowns, which become increasingly rewarding with every ticket purchased.

Bonuses increase once you pass 1,000, 3,000 and 10,000 kilometres travelled, which can earn you up to a 10% discount on your next tickets or let you benefit from options such as tablet rental, for example.

Joining the loyalty programme also means getting a free bottle of water on every trip, plus the option to pay with LEO Crowns and cancel tickets free of charge! Also note that children, students and seniors receive 25% cashback after every trip!

Children between 6 and 15 years old are allowed to travel on LEO Express buses under certain conditions.

For children aged 10 to 15, photo ID is required.

However, minors under 10 must always be accompanied by a person at least 10 years old, who must be able to prove their age during the ticket check using non-photo ID.

Something unexpected come up? Need to cancel your LEO Express bus ticket from Krakow to Prague or your Leo Express Prague to Krakow bus ticket? Once again, it's very simple!

You'll need two things: your ticket number and your cancellation code. Fill in the fields on this page and... your ticket is cancelled! There's even an example in case you're unsure about the procedure. :)

Note, however, that cancelling a ticket for a group or family booking must be done at least 24 hours before departure. Also, if you only want to cancel your return leg, you must first take the outbound trip before cancelling the return trip.

One last important piece of information: in the event of a delay of more than 60 minutes on your bus, whether or not it's the carrier's fault, you can obtain compensation of 25% of the ticket price, or even 50% if you arrive at your destination more than 120 minutes late. Good to know!

If your bus is cancelled, your trip will be fully refunded and you will receive LEO Express points (equal to 50% of the ticket price), which can be used for a discount on a future trip.

On the other hand, ticket exchanges are not possible. You must therefore cancel your first ticket and then place a new order. We know, it's not very practical, but LEO Express is working on changing that.

When it comes to comfort, we've already mentioned it, but LEO Express really takes care of you!

Services vary depending on the destination, but wherever you go, you can be sure to always have at least WiFi and something to drink.

You'll also find power outlets, air conditioning and sometimes even onboard staff ready to help you on LEO Express buses!

Booked a business class ticket? Then you're in for even more comfort! Spacious seats, extra drinks, food and accessories to help you sleep better are included in the price of your ticket.

Given that LEO Express ticket prices are very affordable, why deny yourself such a treat?

If you have reduced mobility, you can travel on certain LEO Express buses specially equipped to accommodate you! You can send an email to info@le.cz to make sure that the bus heading to your destination is able to accommodate you! If you're travelling with a wheelchair, you must notify the company 24 hours in advance via this email.

Indicate your situation when booking, which entitles you to a 75% discount on the price of your ticket. However, you will be asked to prove your disability using a disability card. For seniors, simply a form of ID is enough...

Also state whether you're accompanied by a guide or a guide dog (which of course travel free of charge).

Our animal friends are welcome aboard LEO Express buses, under certain conditions. The animal must be carried in a carrier with a solid bottom. In addition, the carrier's dimensions must not exceed 40 x 50 x 50 cm. If your pet doesn't fit in this carrier, it cannot be accepted.

Guide dogs are of course allowed on board, with no restrictions.

On LEO Express buses, you're allowed to bring 2 pieces of luggage with a total weight not exceeding 30kg.

Strollers, skis and snowboards are also accepted.

For bikes, it all depends on where you're going. You can bring up to 4 bikes on the following routes:

• Košice – Mukachevo – Rakhiv - 4 bikes
• Prague – Leipzig - 4 bikes
• Prague – Salzburg - 4 bikes

On LEO Express buses, you choose your seat stress-free (depending on availability, of course)! Simply click on the seat you want when booking and you're all set! You're guaranteed a great, comfortably seated trip!

There are two types of tickets for boarding LEO Express buses.

The first type is standard class, which already offers a good number of services: bottle of water, power outlet, WiFi, adjustable seats, and even stewards at your service on certain routes!

The second type of ticket allows for an upgrade to business class. The main difference: seats in this class have much more legroom. In addition, two sweet/savoury snacks and two drinks are included in the price of your ticket. On night trips, you can also receive a sleep kit and a blanket.

Business class does come at an extra cost, but the price remains relatively affordable.

LEO Express really is THE company for super comfortable and cheap trips across Eastern Europe.

Note that on buses serving nearby destinations (in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia), known as minibuses, the services offered on board vary depending on the destination. However, you're guaranteed to find at least a bottle of water and WiFi. Not bad at all!
