Zurich is the most populous city in Switzerland, with 405,000 inhabitants, far more than Bern, the country's capital, or Geneva with its Lake Geneva.
Zurich is also a cosmopolitan city. It has the highest number of foreign residents in Switzerland, with just over 125,000 foreigners living there. However, it's Geneva this time that has the highest percentage of foreigners, at 48% of the population.
In Switzerland, 3 languages are officially recognised. First German (65%), then French (18%) and finally Italian (10%). In Zurich the main language is German, but some people also speak Züritüütsch. It's a complex blend of French, English, Italian and German! A real European mix!
