Many places claim the title of oldest restaurant in the world, but La Casa Botín in Madrid has been officially recognised as such by the Guinness World Records!
The narrowest street in the capital? Calle Rempelanzas! The smallest square? La Plazuela de San Javier! The latter is hard to find, so keep your eyes peeled! But if you can't find it, remember that your amazing bus, train and carpooling comparator always offers you a cheap Paris Madrid trip to come back for another try. :)
There isn't much trace of the Arab presence left in Madrid, but you can still see, near the Almudena Cathedral, the remains of the wall that once surrounded the city.
So you want to go to Madrid but lack information, especially answers to the questions:
Madrrrrrid, this city's name sings (at least when properly pronounced, "al español"). If you dream of warmth and lazing about but the price of a Paris Madrid trip curbs your enthusiasm, "no te preocupes" as our neighbours would say! Don't worry, your bus, train and carpooling comparator has thought of everything and offers you a cheap Toulouse Madrid bus trip! Vamos. 🇪🇸
Let's start at the beginning: the Plaza Mayor. Every Spanish city has its Plaza Mayor but Madrid's is the largest in Spain!
Let's continue with impressive sights, heading to ... La Puerta del Sol, of course! A little anecdote about this fully pedestrian square: when you stand in the middle of this magnificent square, you're exactly in the middle of Spain!
If you want to mingle with the locals, take a stroll through El Rastro, a must-see market. You can even buy some little souvenirs there!
We know: all this sightseeing is tiring, especially after a long journey: 16h for a Paris Madrid bus! Luckily there are other types of transport too, we'll get to that soon. That's why we suggest stopping at El Retiro park. Very beautiful, you can even go boating there if you don't feel like napping!
Then head off again with a visit to Madrid's flagship museum: the Prado Museum. On the menu, nothing less than works by Velázquez or Rembrandt!
Before leaving, remember to stop by El Palacio Real, the Royal Palace. You're unlikely to run into a member of the royal family though, they're rarely there! However, you can visit the sumptuous interior. You'll just need to spend a bit of money (hence the value of travelling by cheap bus 😉).
As for the transport to take to Madrid, it'll all depend on where you're leaving from, but you'll have plenty of different options in any case:
Plenty of other wonders await in Madrid, but today we only have time to share the must-sees with you!
But we have many other great deals for you when it comes to transport! We offer Marseille Madrid buses or even Lyon Madrid at rock-bottom prices! No more excuses not to set off on an adventure!
