SNCF refundable tickets at the station

At SNCF, certain tickets are directly refundable at the station by going to the SNCF counter. Here are the tickets that can be refunded directly by an SNCF agent at the SNCF counter.

SNCF cash vouchers

Please note that there are two types of SNCF cash vouchers, check which one you have among these:

  • The Station Cash Voucher. It is only refundable at station counters. Contact the SNCF counter clerk directly to be refunded. When this SNCF cash voucher was issued until 06/12/2010, it is valid indefinitely. For cash vouchers issued from 07/12/2010 onwards, they are only valid for two months from the date of issue.

  • The Agency Cash Voucher. For this one, a refund can only be requested from the agency that issued the original ticket.

Tickets purchased with holiday vouchers

If you were not aware, it is entirely possible to book your train ticket using holiday vouchers. These SNCF tickets can only be booked at your railway station. To get a refund for a journey purchased in whole or in part with holiday vouchers, you must file a complaint online via this website: www.sncf.com/fr/service-client/reclamations. Once your request is processed, you will only need to finalize your SNCF after-sales service by going to your station ticket office.

Tickets purchased at the SNCF counter

As you might expect, a ticket purchased at the SNCF counter at the station is refundable at that same SNCF counter.

Physical tickets and cardboard tickets

Physical TER tickets and cardboard TER tickets are refundable and exchangeable free of charge during a strike period. Otherwise, most tickets are not refundable, see below.

Cancelled TER tickets and delayed TER

In most regions of France, TER tickets purchased online or on the app are not refundable. However, tickets purchased at the station are refundable at the SNCF counter with a 10% deduction. It is the regions that set the refund policy for TER tickets. To obtain the potential refund on these trains, you must contact ONLY the counter.

Non-refundable SNCF tickets at the station

Yes, even today there are non-refundable SNCF tickets at the station! But for most tickets, don't worry, you will be able to get your SNCF refund! In fact, only Agency tickets are not directly refundable by SNCF! But what are SNCF Agency tickets?

In fact, these are simply SNCF train tickets that you purchased on a SNCF partner site such as Tictactrip for example! For accounting and customer service reasons, it is up to the agencies to process direct refunds of SNCF tickets that can be refunded. For example, if you booked an SNCF Intercités train on the Tictactrip website, you will need to request a refund from Tictactrip! Plus, our customer service will pamper you, contact us!

Remember to send us your refund requests for SNCF agency tickets directly, because if you make the refund request directly to SNCF, we will not be informed and therefore we will not be able to refund you.
