"Whoever comes here lives here", such is the motto of Cannes. It can only be true: the sun, the Mediterranean sea and Provençal cuisine! What life is sweeter than this? Not to mention the Cannes Film Festival! Cannes has seen its share of celebrities! Unfortunately, the festival won't take place in 2020...
And not just in the world of cinema! For example, did you know that Picasso lived for 6 years in Cannes, at Villa La Californie? It's actually where he painted The Bay of Cannes!
Tempted by this destination but for you Cannes rhymes with an overpriced stay? You're right, but only half right! If you look carefully, when it comes to budget there are always tricks to make it work! We're sharing our best tips for enjoying Cannes without breaking the bank below!
You want more info about Cannes and in particular answers to the famous questions:
First transport good tip: Tictactrip! We're not trying to brag, but our goal is to offer you cheap trips and we manage to do it quite well! 😇 For example, we offer a Paris Cannes trip from €32!
As for transport, Cannes is quite well served and you'll have several transport options to get there:
Now that you're ready to go, let's fill your days, and always on a tight budget! And for that, nothing could be easier: strolling! There are lots of outdoor spaces to discover in Cannes!
Why not start your day with a little swim and sunbathing in the morning, followed by a short walk along the Croisette up to the small hill of Le Suquet. Then it's time for a well-deserved break at Marché Forville to join the locals and buy socca, pissaladière, courgette flower fritters and a small chard pie for dessert (chard looks like rhubarb, nothing to do with cockroaches, don't worry :))!
We then suggest taking all these goodies to the old port to eat them on the go by the water!
Continue by visiting the Walk of Fame to admire the handprints of the stars who came for the Cannes Film Festival.
You can then wander around the neighborhoods of La Croix des Gardes and La Bocca as you please! :)
On a second day, you could decide to take a little day trip to Nice! It's only half an hour away by carpool from Cannes and for only €3! Just like in Cannes, there's a lot to see: the Promenade des Anglais, Old Nice (especially Place Massena), the pebble beaches... You'll have plenty to keep you busy!
If you still have time left, we also recommend hopping over to the Lérins Islands for a visit between nature and heritage! Here Tictactrip can't help you, but the round-trip boat ride to one of the two islands will cost you €13. Still reasonable!
Now that your trip is planned, all that's left is to wish you a good trip and a great stay in Cannes! 😉
