Pets on board FlixBus buses

On Flixbus buses, no domestic animals are accepted. Flixbus emphasizes that these are safety measures to avoid risking the driver losing control of the bus.

Only guide dogs for the blind are allowed to travel on Flixbus buses. They also have the privilege of traveling free on Flixbus. However, you must remember to contact Flixbus at least 36 hours in advance to inform them of your journey with a guide dog.

Pets on board BlaBlaBus buses

Note: BlaBlaBus is ceasing its bus operator activity at the end of 2026. While it operates, like most coach companies, it is forbidden to travel with your pet. Unfortunately, your little companion will have to stay alone in your absence. Remember to entrust it to someone you trust or use a pet-sitter: the babysitter for pets! You will easily find a kind soul ready to help you.

However, guide dogs are, just like with Flixbus, allowed to travel on BlaBlaBus. To travel on BlaBlaBus with your guide dog, remember to respect the following conditions:

  • Contact customer service no later than 36 hours before your trip to inform them of the presence of the guide dog. This will allow the BlaBlaBus teams to take the necessary steps to ensure your trip runs smoothly.

  • On the day of the trip, remember to bring your ID card as well as documents proving the disability and the required presence of the guide dog on the bus. Once this check is completed, the bus captain is expected to help the person with a disability and their companion board the bus.

Pets on board Altibus shuttles

With Altibus, it is simple for you to reach over 85 ski resorts by public transport! But will you be able to go to the mountains with your pet?

The answer is YES, it is entirely possible! According to the transport general conditions of Transdev Haute-Savoie, small pets can travel for free on Altibus shuttles provided they are placed in a transport cage or closed basket and kept on your lap.

For larger animals, you will need to book them a ticket at half fare. For animals that do not fit in a basket as mentioned above, they must be kept on a leash and muzzled. Otherwise, you may be denied boarding.

Note that dogs categorized as "dangerous" (categories 1 and 2) are not admitted on board. Finally, blind guide dogs are allowed to travel for free on Altibus shuttles in Haute-Savoie.
