The distance between Basel and Zurich is relatively short, around 85 km. This is a journey that, day or night, is quickly covered by train.

According to the timetables we have, the first night train leaves Basel at 9:00 pm and arrives in Zurich at 10:30 pm, while the last train leaves Basel at midnight and arrives in Zurich at 1:30 am.

On such a journey, travel time is therefore barely 1 hour 30 minutes.

This means that, in the best case, you could enjoy a short hour-and-a-half nap.

Of course, this doesn't take into account the time needed to settle in comfortably, get ready to sleep, and wake up before arrival.

From my own experience, even though the journey is short, it's quite possible to grab a restorative little nap.
