France has around 3,000 operational railway stations, spread across the whole country. The network covers both major cities and rural areas.
With nearly 28,000 km of railway lines, France has one of the densest networks in Europe. This provides excellent coverage and great flexibility for both long and short-distance journeys.
For instance, the Île-de-France region alone has more than 400 stations, ranging from international hubs like Gare du Nord to small local stops.
