Airport

FAQ for Paris Orly Airport Shuttle

🚇 Getting to Orly by metro line 14

En savoir plus

Since June 2024, metro line 14 goes directly to Orly. It's become the simplest option from central Paris: expect about 25 minutes from Châtelet, with trains every few minutes and the terminal served at the end of the line.

Watch out for the ticket: the trip to the airport isn't covered by a standard metro ticket, you need a specific, more expensive airport fare. Holders of a Navigo all-zone pass, however, travel with no extra charge.

During peak hours, allow yourself a bit of extra time: the trains get crowded, and boarding with two suitcases can sometimes be a real workout.

🚌 OrlyBus, Orlyval, T7 tram: which one to choose?

En savoir plus

Each option has its own audience. OrlyBus departs from Denfert-Rochereau and reaches the airport in about thirty minutes: handy if you're in the south of Paris, with room for luggage.

Orlyval, the automated metro connected to the RER B at Antony, used to be the fastest option, but its high fare now makes it best suited to those arriving via the RER B from the south of Île-de-France.

The T7 tramway from Villejuif remains the most budget-friendly option: a simple ticket is enough, in exchange for a longer ride with many stops. Perfect if you don't have bulky luggage or an early-morning flight.

🌙 Getting to Orly early in the morning or at night

En savoir plus

Flight at 6am? Metro line 14 starts running around 5:30am, which just about works for the earliest departures. Before that, night buses Noctilien serve the area around the airport, but with detours that make the trip longer.

Taxis remain the safe bet for impossible schedules: rides between Paris and Orly benefit from a fixed, regulated fare, known in advance regardless of traffic.

A tip from experience: for flights before 7am, book your taxi or ride-hailing service the night before. Apps show long waiting times at 5am.

Getting to Orly from Paris

Orly is France's second airport, about fifteen kilometres south of Paris. Since summer 2024, metro line 14 has served the terminal directly in about twenty minutes from central Paris, which has made things much simpler. OrlyBus, Orlyval and the T7 tramway round out the options depending on your starting point and budget.
