Want to go skiing this winter 2020/2021? So do we! But when does the Les Arcs ski resort open, and what about the ski restrictions in the current COVID-19 context?

First off, here's some good news: The Les Arcs ski resort and its ski area will be open from December 12, 2020 to April 30, 2021. Take the opportunity to go skiing at your favorite resort!

But that's not all, given the current global pandemic context, and notably the fact that we also spent our last summer holidays under these conditions, the Les Arcs resort is ready to welcome you with peace of mind this winter. The resort is committed to several key points to ensure you an incredible ski season! Here they are:

• Compliance with health guidelines with social distancing ensured through appropriate signage, mandatory mask-wearing in queues and on ski lifts, distribution of hand sanitizer, and daily disinfection of resort facilities!
• Risk-free bookings with more flexible cancellation terms for your resort bookings, notably for accommodation and ski passes. Cancellation terms can be found HERE.
• A personalized welcome, Les Arcs resort ambassadors will be present to guide you from your arrival, between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Arcs 2000. You can travel there and arrive with peace of mind at your Les Arcs resort!

For skiing and ski lifts, for example, Avoriaz has planned to:

• Not reduce the number of visitors to the resort's ski area and the Portes du Soleil.
• Make masks mandatory on ski lifts and in waiting areas.
• Enable online booking of ski passes at a lower price than in person to reduce crowds.
• Introduce physical distancing at the resort.
• Provide hand sanitizer at checkouts and lift entrances.

Likewise, for ESF (French Ski School) lessons in Avoriaz, masks are mandatory during group gatherings for people aged 11 and over. In all enclosed spaces, masks will also be mandatory.

Restaurants and mountain bars will be subject to the regulations in force set by the government. Health and hygiene measures must of course be respected in Avoriaz as in any other ski resort for this 2020-2021 winter.

Finally, if you wish to book accommodation for your stay in Morzine-Avoriaz this winter, know that the resort is putting in place a refund guarantee. Indeed, the resort's accommodation providers guarantee that if the government were to restrict non-essential travel or if the resort had to close due to the pandemic, your booking would be:

• refunded as a voucher or bank transfer (depending on the accommodation provider),
• or postponed.
